The new 4U frames are out now. The 4U frame is a combination for normal 3U Eurorack modules and 1U tiles. Here you can find the dimensions of the 1U tiles. The height of a 4U frame is 181 mm and is split in two rows, 3U – 133 mm and 1U – 48 mm. The usable inner size for the 1U frame is 28 mm.
The frames and side panels are available in anodised silver. The standard width of the frames will be 84, 104, 110, 126 and 168HP, but generally any size is possible on request.
From end of October I will also offer M3 threaded inserts in new length, 104 and 126HP in addition to 84HP.
As I was asked several times if I could provide frames in 1U size, I decided to give it a thought. This is the first prototype.
The 4U frame is a combination for normal 3U Eurorack modules and 1U tiles. Here you can find the dimensions of the 1U tiles.
The dimensions of a 84HP 4U frame will be 433 x 181 x 30 mm (width x height x depth). The height is split in two rows, 3U – 133 mm and 1U – 48 mm. If you need a 7U frame you can easily combine a 4U and 3U frame.
For now the frames and side panels will be available only in silver anodised. It will still take some time to get the panels. I will keep you updated once the new frames and side panels are available.
Available in flexible width, standard 84, 104, 110, 126 and 168HP. With threaded inserts or square sliding nuts
From now on you can choose between black or silver. In addition to the still available DIY materials and parts I can now offer most of the parts in black.
The first quarter of 2014 is over and I was really busy with getting everything together for the Black Edition, and I am really proud of it. Lots of research done, so not just the frames are available in black, also screw and washers fit with the black anodised aluminium.
I also had to decide if I am going to offer power supplies and busboards again. As I am planning a new case, I made another small batch of PSU’s and busboards. Some of them going on sale as well. And as it is the Black Edition, even the PCBs for busboards and power supplies are black. Eurorack DIY Materials: Clicks and Clocks 6U Frame, Black Edition

This is the first post in 2014. After an exciting 2013, with finishing my console case and starting my very small business for DIY Eurorack parts and a lot of small and big packages shipped throughout Europe, I am curious to see what happens in 2014.
A big “thank you” to all of you, who trusted me and ordered stuff for your own experience in Eurorack DIY case building. I know the ordering process is a bit more complicated than with an ordinary online shop. For sure I am thinking about this option, but so far it is a lot of overhead and in Germany you have to deal with a lot of regulations. You are a target for lawyers and competitors if you violate this regulations. But let’s see, probably I ramp up an online shop. Till then just request the latest price list. Unfortunately I ran out of power supplies (PSU). It was never planned to permanently sell clones of the Doepfer PSU. I just made a small batch and they are sold. So I decided to develop my own version of a Eurorack PSU. This is an ongoing process and will take some time.
Busboards are still available, and they will be replaced by a modified version soon.
